Sample boxes - My Envy Box October edition

I became aware of sample boxes few years ago and was both intrigued and sceptical. The reviews were quite mixed too - while few are delighted to try out luxury products before purchasing them and avoid disappointments, some wondered why spend money on samples when they were given in many outlets to promote the products. I kind of fall in latter category but still wanted to give them a try and I got my envy box in 2014, I believe that’s the year they were launched. I didn’t use to buy luxury brands often at that time and I was just curious to try them out. So, even though I felt the price was justified, I decided to buy only one box (I got another almost 6 months later because I got a discount coupon 🤑).
I also bought few nature’s co boxes around same time and I liked them more as they are cheaper and give deluxe and travel size products, plus their packaging is different every time and I got few good pouches which I still use. Then I stopped them too as I was not able to keep track of them and few products got expired with more than half the quantity unused 😑.
For more than 2 years I forgot about these boxes and in this duration, thanks to my travels, I got loads of samples and travel kits with most of my purchases. Recently I am using up my products, which I am proud of, and not traveling much, which I am not proud of. My inventory is reduced and I am starting to be left with no backup products. One such situation occurred when my Clinique toner is near to bottom and, not only I don’t have another toner, I have no idea what to buy next.
Then I came across the promotion of my envy box anniversary edition and the products are also indicated - along with the toner, I felt other products are also useful. Also I got 10% discount coupon - they are priced at 850 INR and I paid 765(I guess because I registered). They usually ship around mid of the month and I received mine on 19th.
The products are packed in black box which is placed in another cardboard box - felt like opening a present 😁. I personally prefer bag to box, as I can’t use boxes optimally😪 - I have so many boxes lying around.

There’s some hay sort of thing in the box which I spilled around a bit😬. I already knew the contents, so no surprises there - I kind of liked it better this way, as fun as surprises are, there would be at least one product I don’t want.

There is a leaflet with description of products and their prices for full size and quantity present in the box.
The 2 sheet masks cost Rs. 520 each and price of box is less than those 2 - however, I wouldn’t have spent that amount on sheet masks.

Then there are travel size packs of Wella Shampoo and hair mask - the only brand in the box, I heard of before. I actually would have preferred bigger size of hair mask instead of sheet masks, but then I don’t use post wash masks and conditioners that much. They will come in handy when traveling to attend any event.

Next is the toning elixir, the main reason I bought the box😌 - though it’s price is Rs. 400 and I spent almost twice 😜. The description sounds promising and it got many good and balanced ingredients like witch hazel, camomile, lavender and rose water. I am going to start using this right away.

Finally Omorfee green apple face wash, another product for traveling with. In my last few travels, I found myself without travel size packs of face wash and body wash which is quite surprising because I like keeping a stock of travel size products. Recently, I bought the mini pack of Himalaya neem face wash specifically for traveling. However, I like to try a new product and I currently don’t have any face wash favourite (crying out for Lush 😭).

There is also a gift coupon for Myglamm which I most probably wouldn’t use.
I don’t have high expectations for hair products and sheet masks. Whether I will be happy with this purchase or not depends on how the toner and face wash turns out.
