Emptied from July to September 2017
I didn't used up much on July and August as I expected. However, in September lot of products got over (including some of my faves ๐).
1. La Roche Posey face wash: I had high expectations for this product and I have to say they weren't quite met. Though I wasn't completely disappointed as it cleaned well for a gel face wash, I didn't notice any improvement in my skin. Moreover, it barely lasted 6 weeks. For its price, I don't see myself buying this product again. Burts and Bees clary sage face wash, which I bought for winter, replaced it, sooner than I thought it would. Hope it lasts till winter - with it's size I should be sure, but with the short stay of it's predecessor, I never know.
2. La Roche Posey serum: it lasted longer than the face wash. Few zits started surfacing when I started using the serum and it didn't stop them from erupting or made them go away in couple of days (I read few reviews where it did, so it's probably my skin). However, they healed up faster and they weren't itchy or painful. So I believe the serum worked to an extent, but my skin responds better to other products. I started using Clinique serum sample, but switched to Olay as samples are ideal for travels.
3. Maybelline age-rewind eye concealer: This is one of the products I wanted to buy in London but didn't get around it for some reason. As it wasn't available in India then, I ordered it from look fantastic site (it's now launched in India ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป). I like the packaging, especially the applicator and the product is good too. Maybelline is my first favorite makeup brand and there was a time I used only it's products. So far, I am not disappointed by any of it's products and this one isn't an exception either. I got another benefit fake-up concealer, which turned out to be darker even though I am using the same shade as before - I take it means my dark circles reduced.
4. Sephora eye make-up remover: I remember getting it in Paris - we were so impressed with it, we completely forgot that its over the size limit allowed in hand baggage and we did not have check-in allowance. That's saying something, since until then, we were regulating our shopping to contain products within 100 ml. It's totally worth the struggle we went through to get it in the plane - Easy jet let us check-in one piece of baggage, so Paris to Geneva went through smooth, but Ryan air from Milan to Brussels don't even have the option and we had to transfer it to the smaller bottles we emptied. Now that Sephora opened it's stores in India, this is available here but the price is more than twice๐. I only got sample bottle of Clinique day off remover which I want to save for traveling, but by the time I got Neutrogena oil free remover, it almost came to an end ๐ฃ.
5. Origins charcoal face mask: I got this as part of face mask kit in Duty-free, when I couldn't find Clinique charcoal mask. My friend once told charcoal is very efficient in extracting impurities and I was in search for a good charcoal mask since. It has a very fine texture and dries to a form a thin black film after application. I remove it with warm cloth ( which turns black and washing it would take more effort ๐๐ป) and my skin feels quite fresh. I still got 2 more from the pack - one yet to open. I don't know what to get next, probably kiehl's pore cleansing one ๐ค).
6. Big shampoo from lush: there goes the last of my lush products from London and it didn't launch in India nor I got to travel to London as I hoped ๐ข. Anyway, it's a unique shampoo - quite different from the shampoos I used so far. It's filled with sea salt and very granular in texture - I read few reviews complaining about the mess it creates in shower space, but I didn't face much of an issue as it dissolved pretty fast (maybe the climate). I went back to my old favorite - boutique bio kelp shampoo.
7. Engage pocket perfume: if I have to pick only 2 things to get instantly ready, they would be a glossy lip product and a good perfume ๐. I always carry a mini bottle of body spray which would be an instant pick me up half way through a work day and I would be as fresh as I would be at the start of the day ๐. This one is perfect as it is designed to fit even in a pocket and I like it's powdery fragrance too. I want to get a pink one but got green one instead.
8. La Rosche Posey mascara: it lasted more than 6 months and for a sample size at that. It's only 2nd mascara I used so far, but I liked it. I am switching between Benefit and Rimmel now.
9. Bella cotton pads: I use them to apply toner and to remove make up. Though they don't replace my beloved Wilko pads (I don't think any does), they get the job done - plus they are infused with aloe๐. I got another pack of these.
10. Bath and body works shower gel in Paris amor: part of my first trio of products to layer one of my favorite fragrances. Since, the body mist is nowhere close to bottom, I won't be opening cashmere trio. Finally opened L'occitane soap - using soap after a loooong time ๐.
Additionally I used up eau thermale and la Roche Posey face mists. As my stock of French pharmacy growing thinner, I am switching to Kama ayurveda mists.
I probably will have monthly post for October.
