Day trips from London #10 - Stratford upon Avon

Image
The grand finale to the series and a special trip as I went there on the last weekend of my first on-site assignment. I wanted the place to be equally special and what else could compete with the birth place of the greatest writer in English. It wasn't exactly an easy start - I had to go with the most stubborn person in our team and we never see eye to eye on anything. He tried his best to change the destination from the start of the day until we reached Marylebone station but I was determined to go to Stratford (when I decide to be stubborn, even the devil can't beat me buhahaha 😈). It was almost noon by the time we reached Marylebone station. I made some inquiries about connecting trains, timings etc., and got the tickets. It took us almost 2 hours to reach Stratford. Like everywhere we have been before, there are maps in the station indicating important places. As it was already quite late, I had to narrow it down to few places - Shakespeare's birth place, holy Tri...

Accessories collection part 1 - pendents and chains

Image
I am no pro in creating ensembles. My friends, while buying clothing and accessories, consider almost their entire wardrobe - how many ways they could mix and match a shrug, what outfits would a particular pair of shoes look good with etc., Me? I just consider if I like it or not. Result - my accessories never match my outfits nor in  sync with each other. My footwear collection is from Mars and outfits are from Venus while bags and other trinkets belong somewhere else. Due to this situation, even though I had a stand full of shoes collecting dust, I wear same pair of shoes everyday and neglect my artificial jewellery collection entirely. Then one of my teammates/friends, when visited my room, asked an interesting question - what is the point in buying so many girly things when I dress up every day like a boy. I normally ignore comments on my tomboyish attires, but that was the first time my contradictory actions were highlighted. Since then I started focusing on getting a...

Day trips from London #9 - isle of wight

Image
I was slightly disappointed with this trip and if I had to pick a least favorite trip of the series, this would be the oneπŸ™„. We had good group of friends and teammates which usually make us plan to go on our own or, at least, book a private tour. However, since our previous trips with the tour operator were comfortable enough, we didn't hesitate to book for regular tour. They normally arrange tours with lesser number of people consisting 2 or 3 groups of friends/family.  Only this time they arranged for bigger number of people (got a bus instead of their regular mini van) and I felt the group was too much for the tour manager to handle. I personally enjoy the journey as much as (at times more than) the destination and travelling with quarrelsome co-travellers wasn't a pleasant experience😀. Pushing it aside, we did manage to have good time. As usual, we gathered at the pick up point. The drive took a while, through the pick up points due unexpected delays. We got into th...

Emptied from Jan to Mar 2017

Image
At the end of last quarter, I thought there won't be many empties for next checkpoint and even used my almost empty lush face pack cautiously to last longer (or I just don't want to end 😊). However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I managed to finish so many products - few of them I didn't even expect would make this list. This post is going to be quite long 😌. Below is the list of products emptied in the first quarter of the year and my thoughts about them: Lush cup o coffee face mask: starting with the mask from opening line and the last of lush masks from my stock 😭. I like multitasking products (confessions of lazy person 😊) and this one is good combination of mask + scrub. I normally exfoliate when I apply face mask as I use both with same frequency which made this product perfect excuse to skip my scrub for few weeks. The granules are not so soft as other exfoliating products from lush like herbalism and can't be applied harshly or in haste. Th...

Day trips from London #8 - day out with Thomas

Image
This is one of my favorite trips - not only we did not go through travel operators but also planning is done by one of my friends (which means all fun and no work πŸ˜†). Meeting point, train timings, journey duration etc., is conveyed to the group the day before along with the destination and we all are quite excited to travel with Thomas (the steam engine train 😍). We gathered up at Waterloo station and while our group leader got the tickets, rest of us got some coffee and snacks as we didn't have time for breakfast - the Nutella croissants are super yummy( don't exactly remember the name of the bakery but they have an outlet in Liverpool station and I used to go there every chance I getπŸ˜‹). Despite all the efforts we did miss the 9:07 train and spent the next hour roaming around the shops in the station. After getting few more munchies, we boarded the train at 10 and, after about 75 minutes reached the station (couldn't remember the name 😫) where we had to board the...
