Emptied from April to May 2017

The emptied products list got delightfully long, I am posting this one for 2 months instead of my usual three months duration .  Lush 93,000 miles shower jelly : though lush is my favorite brand, I didn't try many of their famous bath products - not having access to bath tubs might be the reason. Then, during my last minute shopping, one of my friends asked to pick up few soaps. While selecting the soaps, I got tempted to get one for me too. However, I already got few soaps and as middle ground bought the shower jelly. It lasted about 3-4 months. Biotherma micellar water : I forgot to pack face wash when I visited Paris and went to a pharmacy to pick one. While I was standing in front of the wall length cupboards filled with products in French description, not able to make out the difference between face washes and moisturizers,  a lovely lady suggested this product. She said it helped her friend and her during Holi in Varanasi - they were freaked out the colors would...

Duty-free shopping in Kuala Lumpur airport

Image
Shopping at duty-free is my favorite type of shopping - saving both time and money. Kuala Lumpur airport is where I had longest (and the second longest) layover till date. While going to Bali and coming back - almost 12 hrs each time. Original plan was to take a Transit tour to Kuala Lumpur on the way back, but my mom lost her passport in Bali and was travelling on EC which is only valid for one journey - back to home country. Anyway, I didn't do any shopping in Bali, so sort of compensated for it in the KL airport. The duty-free shops seems to be divided into 2 groups - Eraman and the Zon. From my observation, Eraman housed mostly luxury products and Zon got the affordable ones. Waiting area have 2 floors of shops and eateries. I initially bought a charm from Thomas sabo for my bracelet. Then started checking out the cosmetic stores. I was trying to find Clinique charcoal mask which wasn't available and the SA suggested origins mask instead. I never used origins mask...

Second Europe trip part 1 - leaving for Spain and touring in Madrid

Image
By the time for my second trip, work became more hectic and irritating and I desperately wanted to get away from office for few days without anything or anyone to remind me of it's existence. I booked a tour package against my resolution, as I barely had time to sleep or eat, let alone plan a trip😫. I didn't inform anyone about my plans until I applied for leave - wanted this trip to be just for me. Luckily, we got mandatory leave policy in client location and mine was about to lapse which is why my leave got approved without much fuss😌. I went to the website my friend suggested (she have high standards and I trust her judgement) and picked up single country tour to Spain. That way I thought I would have enough time to spend in one place without rushing around. I was supposed to travel to Spain on a work assignment for my previous project but that stopped in processing due to project transition. I was extremely disappointed and couldn't find other work opportunity as ...

First Europe trip contd, - when in Paris

Image
I probably covered everything I learnt about travelling to Paris in previous posts here and here . However, would like to write in detail about my first trip. Day 1 (Thursday): our flight was in the afternoon, so we started bit leisurely and got the currency exchanged before taking the train to Stratford. From there we took another train to Stansted airport. After getting some lunch from airport cafe, it was time to board. By the time we reached Charles de Gaulle airport, it was almost evening. A friendly lady at the travel assistance counter guided us how to reach our accommodation. We could even buy the tickets from the counter. we took a train to Gare du Nord and local train from there (Gare du Nord have attractive stores but I couldn't stop there 😥). I booked an apartahotel away from the center. When we got off at the stop mentioned, we were totally lost. A bunch of people chatting gave a short answer when we asked for directions. However, looking at our confused expre...
