Online shopping

Image
Pros of on-line shopping: no long commutes (saves time and environment 😎), no standing in the long queues (saves time), lots of offers and coupon codes (saves money πŸ’°). Cons: not being able to try directly and lets just leave it at that πŸ€“. I always prefer online shopping, however in last year, I reduced shopping online drastically mostly because I bought loads of things during my trips. In last few weeks, I restarted shopping online mostly because my shopping partners left town. 1. Beauty formulas products from newU : When I searched for  Montagne Jeunesse products, I found beauty formulas instead. In addition to face and hair products, there are hand, foot, eye and finger masks tooπŸ˜ƒ. I have been wanting to place online order from newU, but never got around it. When I ran out of my St. Ives facial wipes, I had to find an alternative. That's when I remembered these tea tree ones I thought of trying out. Along got added few more masks which were in my to try list for a whi...

Scotland trip

Image
I am a bit confused with picking up the title for this post - should it be considered as the continuation of second trip? Both trips were on the same week but I did went back home between Spain and Scotland (even if it was only for an hour). Also, should it be considered as Europe trip? Scotland was a part of EU when we started - in fact the decision of Brexit was announced while we were on the way to Scotland from London. Anyway, I am confining that series to the trips that required Shenzhen visa. Where was I after the Spain trip ? - at the closed door of Heathrow train terminal, half past mid night, wondering how to reach home in 4 hours. The guard there suggested that I take the bus which I was trying to avoid - I was extremely bad with bus routes and finding bus stops. I have few contacts for airport pickup but they require prior notice, plus my cell phone ran out of battery (sometimes I feel like it got a sensor to detect when I need it the most and decide to drain itself - I d...

Products from abroad

One of the things I like about being a grown up (well kinda grown up), I get to travel more and have friends who travel and do shopping for me. I wouldn't prefer latter option often - only with friends I'm very close who, I'm sure wouldn't hesitate to say no. After returning from London, my shopping buddy and I used to (and still do) go through our favorite UK shopping sites - drooling over the offers. I even tried international shipping once . Anyway, recently some of my friends (and extended friends) got few products for me from various places 😍. 1. Thanksgiving sale in USA: My sister asked me if I want anything, when there was a huge sale during thanksgiving in USA and her friend offered to send few products for her. She was fully aware of the amount of shopping I did in Europe, less than 2 months before and was almost certain that I would say I don't need anything. Well that's what I said initially but immediately followed by a list of things sur...

Second Europe trip part 2 - Valencia and Barcelona

Image
Continuing with the Spain trip - From Retiro park in Madrid, we started to Valencia. The route is quite beautiful - would have been more enjoyable if some stupid movie wasn't being played in the coach πŸ˜’ ( I almost missed the wonderful view on the way). We reached Valencia after noon and stopped at Oceanographic, where we had refreshing horchata - a drink made from chufas or tiger nuts. Our hotel is quite near to Oceanographic and, after checking in, we went for a walking tour of Valencia. Like Madrid, Valencia have a wide range of architecture, however the variations are segregated. While some locations adapted contemporary style other parts retained ancient grandeur. Our walking tour took place in the latter area covering the conventional part of town. The roads are quite narrow, it was difficult to get a complete shot of the buildings. I tired my best with my limited photographic skills. On the way, we came across few significant structures - an underground prayer hall ...
