Long weekend - assorted activities

What I thought would be a boring lazy weekend turned out not to be not too bad - maybe a bit interesting too.
Four day long weekend for the 3 travel freaks, it's only natural to think of a trip. However, we are better at impromptu travels rather than planning in advance. Moreover, not even a month passed since our previous trip to Pondicherry.
That's when I received a call from xoxoday reminding me that the voucher I got for my work anniversary are close to expiry. I got the vouchers long back but I totally ignored them until few days ago after lots of reminders - I thought it's just another one of those promotional things.
Anyway, the website got a wide range of options to choose from - fine dining, hobbies, travel, wellness etc.,
What caught my attention is the hobbies section - I immediately booked a painting workshop conducted by expressions fine arts. I used to sketch every now and then, though the frequency reduced since school. I never got progressional guidance and, few months ago, I saw a video on the art holidays in Italy. I kicked myself for not thinking about it when I visited Europe😫.
The workshop starts bit early for my schedule and it's quite a commute from my place, so I booked it on Friday - first day of the long holiday.
Expressions fine arts is right behind the passport office and run by a nice couple. They stay on 2nd floor and got the studio on first floor where the classes are held. I was the only student that day and I got complete attention from my instructor 😆. I mentioned that I wanted to try acrylic paint, she suggested I try painting with knife instead of brush. I was intrigued and also slightly skeptical as I wasn't sure I could do it, but the excitement pushed away the skepticism.
I was shown few photos to pick the one I would like to paint. I am normally drawn to landscapes but the time we got wasn't sufficient for the chosen technique. I chose something very unlikely - a lamp with a tree with different intensities of light. I thought I could learn something about shading.
The painting is mostly done by me and my instructor guided me through the process. 5 hours later, I got my very first canvas painting 👼💃.

I thought of visiting tippu museum nearby, however, it didn't seem feasible with an uncovered canvas in hand.
I got my DSLR camera delivered that day and my very first iPhone the day before - quite excited to see the pictures of the painting in new gadgets 🕵.
BTW I ordered the phone from paytm mall. It's first time I bought something from paytm and was super skeptical as it's the most I spent on phone so far. I chose brand certified sellar from same city and the phone got delivered in less than 24 hours, plus I got cash back too🤑.
Next day, I booked facials and dinner for my sister, cousin and myself - girls day out 👸. We got our facials done from an ayurvedic place which is quite different than other places we normally visit. The facial is pretty much regular kind, only with herbal products💆. They got a good collection of ayurvedic products and I bought a hair oil (I have high expectations from Kerala hair oils - hope it does my hair some good).
We got couple of hours till dinner and went to nearby mall. I bought tampered glass and back cover for my phone and then began the photoshoot 👧.
Dinner was quite decent - they don't have a buffet as we expected, but with preset menu, food was served at the table.

The cave ambiance was well set and we did another round of photoshoot while waiting for the cab😁.

On the 3rd day, I booked myself a hair cut with express spa using up last of my voucher points. I then bought 2 boxes of cupcakes and 1 mini tiramisu cake from my favorite cupcake place called Bite me🍰😋. We thought of returning home, but I spotted Costa coffee outlet and realized that I didn't have coffee from Costa in very long time☕.

While we were chatting over coffee, it started raining and we decided to have dinner instead of ordering in. The restaurant is right across the road and yet my hair got wet - not even couple of hours after getting the hair done 💇🙍.
The food was quite delicious - a happy surprise as we initially wanted to go to different restaurant, but chose nearby one due to heavy rain. We had fish fingers, chicken steak and Nutella banana waffles.

Final day, we planned to take the DSLR to outdoor trials. However, since our cousin wasn't feeling very well, we stayed at home and watched vintage movies 🎞, had home cooked meal and little bit of experimenting with the camera 📸.

Overall, we had a well deserved relaxing time without feeling non-functional😁.
