Rounding off 3 trips to Goa

Image
Bachelorette/bachelor parties, blowing off steam post exams, much needed break from hectic work schedules or any situation when we want to go little (or a lot) crazy - Goa is the place that comes to mind. In the last four years, I went to Goa three times and each time it was completely different experience. First visit is just to relax and we went during off-season. We stayed at a resort in vagator beach located on a cliff overlooking the Sea. We couldn't do any typical to-do things in Goa - no water sports, no shacks, no markets. Even though it wasn't raining, it was start of monsoon and every place is closed completely (with covers to protect from heavy rains). We rented scooters first day and Jeep next two days and almost every place we went is closed, however, we came across some good places - mostly eateries. We managed to do some kayaking in one of the resorts and jet ski in Vasco. Ironically, it didn't rain even once during our stay. The main activity of the trip ...

Sample boxes - My Envy Box October edition

Image
I became aware of sample boxes few years ago and was both intrigued and sceptical. The reviews were quite mixed too - while few are delighted to try out luxury products before purchasing them and avoid disappointments, some wondered why spend money on samples when they were given in many outlets to promote the products. I kind of fall in latter category but still wanted to give them a try and I got my envy box in 2014, I believe that’s the year they were launched. I didn’t use to buy luxury brands often at that time and I was just curious to try them out. So, even though I felt the price was justified, I decided to buy only one box (I got another almost 6 months later because I got a discount coupon 🤑). I also bought few nature’s co boxes around same time and I liked them more as they are cheaper and give deluxe and travel size products, plus their packaging is different every time and I got few good pouches which I still use. Then I stopped them too as I was not able to keep track ...

An impromptu trip to Munnar

Image
Both in my first and second visits to Kerala, I had Munnar in the itinerary and missed - both times. Third trip to Kerala is confined to Munnar. It was one of those times where I realize happiness comes from within, so does sadness. Few months ago, even though everything was going exactly as I wished and I had the best I could, in given situation, I was feeling low & frustrated. The fact that I have no control nor contribution to the results made me feel extremely helpless - the feeling I dread the most. Few years ago, an adventure sport would have help me out - I believe going closer to death would make me feel more alive and make anything else seem petty. However, I am no longer regular with my fitness activities & work out sessions and I am not dumb to endanger myself, trying out an adventure without required practice and fitness. Next best thing I could think of is travel, my new found passion, and Munnar was top in list of relaxing destinations. My sister came to visi...

Long weekend - assorted activities

Image
What I thought would be a boring lazy weekend turned out not to be not too bad - maybe a bit interesting too. Four day long weekend for the 3 travel freaks, it's only natural to think of a trip. However, we are better at impromptu travels rather than planning in advance. Moreover, not even a month passed since our previous trip to Pondicherry.  That's when I received a call from xoxoday reminding me that the voucher I got for my work anniversary are close to expiry. I got the vouchers long back but I totally ignored them until few days ago after lots of reminders - I thought it's just another one of those promotional things. Anyway, the website got a wide range of options to choose from - fine dining, hobbies, travel, wellness etc.,  What caught my attention is the hobbies section - I immediately booked a painting workshop conducted by expressions fine arts. I used to sketch every now and then, though the frequency reduced since school. I never got progressional gu...

Emptied from July to September 2017

Image
I didn't used up much on July and August as I expected. However, in September lot of products got over (including some of my faves 😑). 1. La Roche Posey face wash: I had high expectations for this product and I have to say they weren't quite met. Though I wasn't completely disappointed as it cleaned well for a gel face wash, I didn't notice any improvement in my skin. Moreover, it barely lasted 6 weeks. For its price, I don't see myself buying this product again. Burts and Bees clary sage face wash, which I bought for winter, replaced it, sooner than I thought it would. Hope it lasts till winter - with it's size I should be sure, but with the short stay of it's predecessor, I never know. 2. La Roche Posey serum: it lasted longer than the face wash. Few zits started surfacing when I started using the serum and it didn't stop them from erupting or made them go away in couple of days (I read few reviews where it did, so it's probably my skin). Ho...
