Road map to skincare and cosmetics
As fun as shopping is, it is quite easy to get carried away. Especially when travelling overseas, we come across so many things which are either not available or too expensive back home, it's hard to resist. While I am following my skincare and haircare routine regularly and going through the products as planned there are quite a few unopened ones. To make things more difficult, Black Friday sales kicked in and few more are on their way to my stash. It's high time I need to list out the stuff and plan how to use them.
Starting with skincare
Face wash: Currently using herbalism cleanser from lush which is soon to be completed. I have a sample of ultra bland which I would be using next as it is getting colder. Then there are la Roche posey face wash and lush fresh pharmacy but I may save them for summer. I'm planning on using burts and bees clary sage face wash as I am getting dry patches around nose, mouth area and I read this wash would be useful - hope it works. However I would be switching to fresh pharmacy by march as it has lower shelf life.
Face pack: Mask of magnanimity from lush is almost over and already opened cup o coffee which I have to finish in a month (how much I miss the fresh masks from lush 😒). Then I got some sachets which would last another couple of months. Would have picked few more montagne jeunesse sachets had I known they are no longer available in India.
Face scrub: since herbalism, mask of magnanimity and cup o coffee have fine granules and taking care of exfoliation daily, currently not using any additional scrub. Then there's travel pack of Clinique seven day scrub which is my favourite☺️.
Toner: currently using tea tree toner tabs after cleansing morning and evening. Then would come Clinique clarifying lotion - another favourite from Clinique. Also I got my Eau thermale and la Roche posey face mists.
Serum: I normally don't use serums, definitely not one worth 25£. However got body shop drops of light on impulse to get the free gift 🤓. It's perfect to use instead of a moisturiser when my oily feels dehydrated. Then I got la Roche posey serum which I got in duo pack with the face wash. I would like to use them together , maybe I should wait to open it until I finish up Olay lotion which is kept aside to be used after drops of light - hope I won't forget the order.
Moisturiser: usually I would skip moisturiser as my skin is oily and use a light day cream like Olay lotion or bb cream. However, I got a travel size day and night cream in Clinique freebie kit. Also have to finish the Olay day fluid and another Olay lotion is still unopened.
Eye cream: lush enchanted sample lasted more than a month and still got some left. Then I got to finish day and night creams from ylg.
Lip balms: thankfully I got limited lip balms in lip product category. Burts and bees for night and monoprix for day, even though I rarely use it trying to finish up the glosses and never ending lipsticks instead. Got one lip balm from Sephora in unopened stock which I will be using after Burt's and bees lip balm. Another tinted lip balm from Burt's and bees will be replacing monoprix when it gets over.
Lip scrub: hoping I would finish Clinique scrub soon, asked a friend returning from Scotland for a lush lip scrub - wanted to try them for a while.
Next to make up products:
Eye pencil: right now using Body Shop eye pencil which doesn't seem to end anytime soon and lord & berry Kajal stick is on its way from look fantastic.
Eyeliner: got this nice twist up pencil liner from Rimmel. I do prefer pencil liners as they are so easy to use however I am going to get maybelline liner from US and then there is the Dior eye pencil bought in Paris.
Mascara: Another product I don't usually use but got quite a few as freebies and part of kits. I just went through Clinique one and started with la Roche posey. I also got a mini and full size packs with Benefit girls gone wild kit and another one from Rimmel.
Brow products: I have quite thick eyebrows and never felt the need for brow kits. However, on my friend's suggestion, got maybelline brow pencil and then got brow gel in Benefit kit. Also ordered Rimmel brow kit from look fantastic and, thinking it's an eyeshadow, a lord and berry eyebrow powder ( still planning on using it as eye shadow, let's see how it turns out).
Eye shadow: I avoided these as I never finished an eye shadow and it isn't something I use very regularly. I must say I did a good job resisting them especially when all my friends got those nice sleek kits and when clarins palette was on offer for 25£. However, I gave in for the eyeshadow stick from Chanel in Paris 😌.
Concealer: the very first makeup product I got in London is Benefit fake up concealer. Until then my makeup consisted of lipstick, eye pencil and compact. I got intrigued by how flawless women there do their makeup and started watching some YouTube videos. However, I never noticed how much I liked the concealer until I came back home and realised how I used it up (I rarely finish up a product and made it a point to only buy things I regularly use). I ordered another along with Benefit kit and a good friend bought it from UK - I should stop doing that before my friends decide to stop informing me of their travel plans. There is also a mini concealer in bare minerals starter kit and ordered maybelline one from look fantastic.
Highlighter: not sure whether it's concealer or highlighter or both but using YSL touché iclat for special occasions.
Primer: tried them first when they were handing out samples in a Clinique counter. Didn't use them for a while as I felt the number of products I am using increased drastically. Even though it gave such smooth finish to the foundation/bb cream, avoiding to use regularly. Still got a mini tube in bare minerals kit and full size pack in Benefit kit.
BB cream/foundation: I love BB creams so much mainly because of their multitasking. Got Olay BB cream in my first visit to Superdrug which is still in use and one from la Roche posey bought from a pharmacy in Madrid. Then I got couple of sachets of foundation as samples - perfect for occasional use. There is foundation powder in bare minerals kit which I am planning to use together with other products in the kit.
Compact: as much as I like the Chanel one I am currently using, it seems to last forever. Hoping for it to get finished soon so bare minerals kit could be opened🙄.
Cheek tint: yet another product I wasn't used to and came to me as freebie from body shop. Actually it's a lip and cheek stain and, since I already got like a ton of lip products, started using as cheek stain. Got another one in Benefit kit, their famous Cha Cha tiny, which is yet to be opened.
Lipstick/glosses: Considering they are the very first makeup product I used and always do, it might not be surprising to have them in majority of the stash. However, I used to be lot more calculated and never had more than 3-4 at one point, it's always new one comes to replace the older ones. Unfortunately, the situation is not that controlled anymore. Already listed products in use in previous post. Additionally I got many unopened ones 2 lipsticks and a gloss from Sephora, a lipstick from Chanel and another from mac ( creme in your coffee which was supposed to be my first mac, but verve got the crown)
Since it is already a long post, concluding for now and hair care post follows in next post.
