Project Pan 10
I have been watching quite a few de-clutter videos lately, but I don’t think I could ever do something like that. I do occasionally throw away some stuff which crossed its life span and went bad and it breaks my heart to do so💔. I’d rather minimise my purchases and get stuff only when I finish my products which are in use (I often buy before finishing, but I refrain from opening them). That brings to the category which is more suitable for me - Project PAN🥳.
Now, there are multiple types of this project - finishing up the listed products in specific duration, not buying new products or not using any other products until listed products are emptied. I am going to mix first and third - I will try to finish up the selected products by end of 2020 and, while the product is in use, I wouldn’t open a new product in that specific category. Ex: I will open my Mac eye pencil only after my Clinique one ends.
I have 2 categories - products with and without colour options. I usually have single pieces in use in latter category like concealer, BB cream etc., and multiple pieces in former like eyeshadows and lipsticks. I will assign single category to duration restriction and multiple category to no new products restriction. With that, I am getting into the list of ten products I chose for this project📜 (I already complicated the process enough🤪).
The singles category (most of the products listed fall in this category, so I photographed them as face and eye/lip products)
1. Clinique anti blemish BB cream: this one have 24 months shelf life and it’s close to an year since I opened it. Even though it could cross over year end, I would like to use it up before end of year so I could use the unopened products in my stash📦.
2. Mac studio concealer: just like BB cream, this one have 24 months shelf life and I open it an year ago. For a while I used it along with witch hazel concealer and, after it is finished, Mac became solo product. I might even add in second project type and not buy new concealer until this one hits pan.
3. Smashbox primer: this might be the easiest one in the list, with not being a full size product. Then again, I don’t use primer regularly which might prolong the stay of this tube - nonetheless it, most definitely, will not be beyond 2020. While this might have higher shelf life, there is embryolisse lait cream which is already opened and kept aside as it is heavier for warmer months. I will have to resume that by winter starts and I don’t want this to be unfinished by then 🤷🏻♀️.
4. Bare minerals warmth: not sure if it is a bronze or a contour - as explained by my friend, I use it as contour. I use neither actually, but this came as part of starter kit. It have shelf life of 12 months and it’s way past that timeline which explains why I am eager to finish this up. Also it’s last product from the kit, so it’s high time for it to join its family👻.
5. The body shop lip and cheek tint: I use it as cheek tint and, even though it have colour options, up until recently it is the only blush I used. It’s close to its shelf life of 12 months, hence the need to expedite the utilisation process.
6. Clinique eye pencil: I use this for the waterline as kajal. This is not full size either but is a deluxe sample and lasts quite long, almost as much as a full size pack. I picked 2 of them in a sale and the first one broke while twisting up which was almost 6 months ago. Not that I am eager to get rid of this one, but my Mac kajal is waiting to be opened 💁🏻♀️.
7. Mac mascara: another deluxe size - I fact I rarely use full size mascaras and the deluxe ones last 8 months easily (and we are not supposed to use mascaras for more than 6 months - I wonder how to finish up a full size mascara in 6 months 🤔). For hygiene purposes, if not for anything else, I would like to finish this up soon.
The multiple products category:
8. Bonjour liquid eyeliner: even though I have other eyeliners in use which bought this to multiple category, this is the only liquid eyeliner I own. Thisone comes with a shelf life of 6 months which is already crossed, hence the hurry to finish🏃🏻♀️.
9. Dior eye liner pencil: this is my favourite eyeliner and for a while, it was the only one. But then I bought brown liquid eyeliner (mentioned above), black felt pen liner and dark blue pencil eyeliner. Even as single eyeliner, it took almost a year to get half way through this one and, with new entries, the danger of crossing its lifetime is becoming more possible. With the amount of money spent on this💶, I wouldn’t want to waste any of it.
10. Sephora lipstick: hardest one of all and the product I am most desperate to finish. I take ages to finish up lipsticks and they are growing in number📟. I have more lipsticks than any other products I use and I have almost same number of unopened ones as opened ones. Mac creme in your coffee is closer to pan than this one, but this is opened way before Mac, thus making it to this list. Hopefully I could finish both of them this year.
Here’s to finish up the products 🥂and, hopefully, few more🤞🏻 before my unopened stash grows bigger.
