Christmas and New year shopping
I started making filter coffee after almost 2.5 years, thanks to my friend who bought arabica coffee powder from Coorg - my most favorite place to have coffee. Anyway, coming to the topic in hand, I bought quite a few things during Black Friday sale. However, they are still in UK and I wanted few stuff. I tried not to repeat the products though - well, mostly.
Mac: This is more of a splurge than necessity - I missed offers on Mac quite a few times in Nykaa, not this time. I wanted BB cream for a while and I missed it in Black Friday sale trying to decide between Mac and Clarins detox BB. The body shop tea tree BB cream is another option I am considering and is no longer available. So, when I saw the free lippie offer again, I stopped thinking and bought the Mac BB cream. I had to buy another product to be eligible for the offer and my first thought went to mini lipstick. But, since I got enough lipsticks and will be getting another free one, I decided to get mini pigment instead. I heard a lot about them and not quite sure what they are, but I felt its better to get something I don't already have. Finally to the freebie - I had to choose between 4 lipsticks and I picked lady danger as I don't have any orange shades.
TBS: I absolutely love this site - it is the only one I found available in India with almost same prices and offers as UK site. I initially added lot more stuff, but I wanted to watch my spending. So I screened and narrowed it down to very much required products. I even removed tea tree oil which I almost finished and white musk roll on deo. I bought Satsuma body scrub and English Gardenia body wash for summer as it will be summer by the time I open them. Wild argon body lotion as I need extra moisturization for the cold winter. Elder flower eye cream as I finished up all my eye creams and have few more weeks before I could get my Origins eye cream. Banana shampoo as my Rene Furterer shampoo is 2/3rd over. Finally bamboo pin hair brush as I am switching to wooden brushes.
UVLED nail lamp: Another product I am resisting to buy for a very long time and finally gave in - its more of a celebratory purchase. It gave a slightly better finish to my nail polish and it is taking longer to chip, however it didn't dry the gel polish as well as I hoped. To be fair, I used a very old nail polish, so jury is still out on this.
Kevin Murphy hair products: I first saw them in cultbeauty site and what caught my attention is the fuel bottle style packaging of their shampoos. I finished up my hair sprays (finally!!!) and searching for an economical one when I came across the buy 1 get 1 free offer in Nykaa. Instead of the spray I bought the curl enhancing serum. I also bought a dry shampoo, as I am not able to wash my hair so frequently due to the cold climate.
Sandals: weekend girl outings in December and January is mostly to the shopping malls. One such trip is to ShopperStop and, while my sisters are busy in bags section, I bought myself 2 pairs of sandals. Even though I have quite a few pairs of footwear, there is always one pair I use the most and I intend to change that. I bought these blue sandals because they reminded me of those worn by Leighton Meester in Monte Carlo movie. I also wanted her cover up shirt dress she wears for most of the movie, but no luck with that so far. Also bought the block heels in light brown, should have bought them in black as my Carlton London black shoes i bought last year are worn out few days later.
WestSide: honesty, it is not my most favorite store. However, I liked few products bought by my friends and my sister, during one of her many visits to the store, bought me the dark blue plaid shirt dress. Come to think of it, I most of the dresses I bought this year are blue. Later we went to another branch and bought some nightwear and these bracelets. If there is one thing I cant have too many, that is bracelet.
I am not going to make any resolutions like no shopping for next 3 or 6 months (who am I kidding), but I will try to be calculative.
