Essence nail polishes
Recently, on a Sunday evening, I sat with my nail files, buff and the almond cuticle oil from TBS. After pampering my hands and nails a bit, I applied the nail polish from Essence. I don't know if it is because of the other products, but I noticed that the polish stayed quite almost for a week without chipping.
I always kind of ignored Essence nail polish - even though I quite liked their collection of colors and the gel finish, my love for Essie overshadowed Essence. It's not a fair comparison, considering the huge price difference. However, the fact that I even thought of them together says something about the quality of Essence polishes🤓.
As the number of bottles from Essence increased in my stash, I thought of writing about them.
The gel polishes:
48 my love diary:
This is my first nail polish from Essence (actually second, but I gave the first one to my teammate). I got it around the same time I bought my first Essie polish. The color is quite good and the gel style is something I never tried before. However, the duration of stay is not too long. After 2 days it started raising around the edges (not chipping) and I used to peel it off - it is a habit of mine😌.
37 serendipity & 05 sweet as candy:
For more than a year, I totally forgot about Essence. Then, one day I was shopping from Nykaa and, while searching if anything else to be added, I came across the brand and the prices are same as they were in London🤑. Although I already got a good enough number of bottles, still added these 2 bottles to the basket. However, I continued using Essie most of the times and they were ignored in the stash after the first use🤔.
Serendipity is the one which made me re-discover Essence and it got compliments from my teammates😊. It's such a lovely grey color and didn't require many coats which is an advantage for gel paints as they get gooey with more coats.
Sweet as Candy is powder pink color and I absolutely love light colors - this one gives such a subtle and classy look. However, since the color is quite light, I require more coats to make it even and the application gets difficult.
Both the pics were taken 3 days after application. The finish started looking dull, so I applied a top coat and they look better than first day😃.
The nudes:
Just when I realized how good these polishes are, Nykaa was having a sale and Essence nail polishes were on 50% off. I found their new collection and after checking few reviews, I narrowed down to 3 options. I thought of cutting down to 1 or 2, but it was so difficult to choose from those.
These are not so long lasting as gel polishes and I had to apply top coat almost immediately. They probably would have stayed longer if I kept my hands off my nails - I started peeling as soon as I saw the paint lift at a corner😓. Interestingly it happened only with 2 or 3 nails and rest stayed perfectly intact. Also, unlike, my love diary, they didn't peel off completely but only a small part and it still didn't stand out. I could just repaint those 2,3 nails and get through couple of days more 😉.
03 I'm lost in you:
It is a nice light brown color - perfect neutral shade for formal attires.
07 hope for love:
A medium pink color - I was searching for this shade like forever (i always get either too dark or too light). Though neutral, it got a slight pop of color.
02 i nude it:
Off-white color - I specifically asked my friend to get me an Essie nail polish in this color. Glad she did not find it, I got one for a fraction of price.
I feel like I got a good budget nail polishes, for when I don't want to splurge on Essie or OPI and I will try to refrain myself from peeling them off.
