February empties
I thought of combining Feb and Mar empties as the products, I thought I would use up, still got enough content for few more uses. It would have been disappointing, considering that I finished up a lipstick and am super excited to write about it 😁. Then, in the last week of Feb, few other products got emptied unexpectedly 💃 and I get to write this post.
1. Bobbi Brown lipstick in soft rose: there are very few things which makes me feel excited and finishing up a lipstick is slowly but surely making it to the list. I'm extra glad because I am not super impressed with this lippy, which was sad as I waited like forever to get a lipstick from Bobbi Brown. When they finally launched in India, only one store was opened in Delhi - it only made me extra frustrated, so close yet far enough to be unreachable😥. So when my friend was visiting Delhi, this is the only thing I asked for. I normally don't buy lipsticks without trying them out, but I couldn't pass up on this opportunity - I went through loads of videos and blogs with swatches and picked on the shade soft rose. The excitement of getting my first BB lipstick was, however, short-lived. That was the time, lipstick is the only makeup product I used and I preferred the kind of color which gives a polished look without any other make-up. Soft rose is the kind of color I couldn't work with on it's own - it's a coraly color, lighter than I would like, which stood out in not so good way 😞. Moreover, I found the texture bit drying - maybe it's just the piece or the variant. Anyway, I later tried few lipsticks in the counter and liked them a lot - I am never buying another lipstick without trying it first😑.
I already opened a Sephora lip stick and lip cream during Christmas and new year week, so not going to open anything new as replacement.
2. Biotique bio kelp shampoo: one of my old faves, kelp shampoo and bringraj oil from Biotique used to be my trusted combo and, for a very long time, they are the only products I used for my hair. I went back to it when I finished up my lush shampoo. I bought a Khadi shampoo to replace it, but my friend got me curly wurly shampoo from Belgium. Super excited to start with it🤓.
3. Rene Furterer shampoo: this is an unexpected addition, I am mostly using this while travelling. Rene Fueterer is one of the famous french pharmacy brands and I quite like their volumizing variant. However, color protect variant didn't impress me so much. Anyway, I got wella shampoo and conditioner in travel size for me to pack for my next trips👼.
4. Clinique custom repair serum: I got it as a free sample when I purchased the sonic brush along with 4 more samples. This is the only one I completed or even used, others are still unopened. I initially kept it in my handbag in case my skin feels dry in the evenings (which happens rarely as I got oily skin) and to use during my travelling. Then, I read few reviews and thought of using it regularly. It is a light weight semi-fluid which gets absorbed in a split second and requires 2-3 pumps per use. It is thicker than regular serums, and on warm days, I use just this one skipping my regular moisturizer. Clinique says it takes 12 weeks to show the results, but the 10 ml pack barely came for a month and I used it only once a day. I don't think even 30 ml pack would last 12 weeks and I am not going to spend close to 5k on a serum. I thought of opening moisture surge sample after this, but I will use lush vanishing cream instead as it have lesser shelf life.
5. Montagne Jeunesse mud mask: this is a surprise find while going through my suitcase. Though it is a sachet, it gave me 4 uses and got me through the month. MJ face packs are my favorite after Lush and I hope I could find them again. I am not so sad as I thought because I got the new Lush jelly mask and I can't wait for my reunion😍.
Many of the emptied products, even those I liked, made me excited than sad as they gave way to the new ones I am dying to open😉.
