Duty-free shopping in Kuala Lumpur airport
Shopping at duty-free is my favorite type of shopping - saving both time and money.
Kuala Lumpur airport is where I had longest (and the second longest) layover till date. While going to Bali and coming back - almost 12 hrs each time. Original plan was to take a Transit tour to Kuala Lumpur on the way back, but my mom lost her passport in Bali and was travelling on EC which is only valid for one journey - back to home country.
Anyway, I didn't do any shopping in Bali, so sort of compensated for it in the KL airport.
The duty-free shops seems to be divided into 2 groups - Eraman and the Zon. From my observation, Eraman housed mostly luxury products and Zon got the affordable ones.
Waiting area have 2 floors of shops and eateries. I initially bought a charm from Thomas sabo for my bracelet. Then started checking out the cosmetic stores. I was trying to find Clinique charcoal mask which wasn't available and the SA suggested origins mask instead.
I never used origins mask before and didn't read extensively about them. So I called up my shopping buddy and asked for her inputs. She immediately suggested I should get them. SA advised me to take 3 pack bundle as they are more economical. But when I went back after the phone call, she wasn't there and I found this 8 pack bundle of 4 varieties in 30ml packs.
I don't remember how much I paid in MYR but it came in between 3800-3900 INR. I thought I wouldn't buy anything else. Meanwhile I did some browsing for origins mask and got tempted for their famous ginzing mask. Also my friend wanted to take half of the packs and I got my justification (we aren't called partners in crime without reason😁).
This time I went to the smaller store on other end of the floor. Along with the ginzing mask I bought Maybelline CC cream and baby skin primer which I skipped buying in London. I still got good amount of Olay BB cream left and la Roche posey BB cream unopened but I got it as it is not available in India (it probably would be available by the time I open them 😆).

Then I went upstairs which got huge duty-free shopping area (Eraman I think). It got counters for high end cosmetics, liquor and chocolates. Clinique Sonic brush was available for about 330 MYR with an additional replacement head free but a friend of mine was already getting one for me from UK. I was also tempted to buy a la Mer product but they are extremely expensive and I had to remind myself I'm not getting salary in pounds anymore😢.
However, I couldn't resist pick and mix section of Lindt while going to security check.
Just before security check, there are few more stores with Mac and kiehls counters but the sales personnel were on break😔.
Near the waiting lounge, there are few cafes and chocolate shops. I picked Hershey kisses and the SA suggested brookside chocolates.
Felt like I bought too many chocolates but I gobbled them in few weeks. Hopefully I get to shop in duty-free again soon 😌.
