May and June Empties
As much as I tried to bring back monthly empties, I had to wait for 2 months - well better than 3 months heh? Let’s get on with the list.
1. Forest Essentials Kashmiri walnut face scrub: this is actually my second tub, hence evident that it is one of my favourites. It’s not too mild and not too harsh, just right for my skin. I tend to get blackheads around my nose and below the lower lip and I need a physical exfoliation. The only product which could handle the situation is Lush herbalism cleanser, but since it’s not available in India 😔, I am in search for good scrub. Though, this one is quite decent it’s not too close to Herbalism and I couldn’t use it daily. Thinking of trying Kiehls or Bioderma next.
2. The body shop argon oil body wash: another repeat product. Taking a little break from Bath and Body works, I bought this one in sale. It’s perfect for summers in Bangalore-creamy ones tend to be heavy in warmer weather but skin still tends to get dry to go for non hydrating cleansers. The consistency is lighter than gel and the scent is pleasant. Now that days are getting colder, I got Dove mousse wash.
3. Caudalie foaming cleanser: this one was in my travel kit and didn’t get used frequently. It’s consistency is quite light yet cleanses well. Size is bigger for a travel pack. With acne prone skin, I had to stick to pharmaceutical face washes for regular use. Even for travel I don’t want to experiment too widely and I like French pharma products. For now I got a sample m’caffeine face wash for my travel kit (hope it gets used up sooner 🤞🏼).
4. Clinique anti blemish solution: I got this along with Clinique anti blemish BB cream in UK when my acne was getting worse (mostly due to stress). I haven’t used it regularly - it starts off bit stingy when applied but gave instant relief 🤷🏻♀️. I got Clarins one now, however I don’t think I will be using spot treatments. Maybe get some salicylic acid.
5. Liz Earle instant boost skin tonic: I got this in summer kit along with moisturiser, 2 face cleansers. It lasted quite long (as I didn’t use it regularly), it is soothing and lightly hydrating too. On extremely warm days, I could just use this and skip the moisturiser as it could get heavier along with the moisturiser (even the light summer one). I still have to finish Clarins and Origins tonics - trying extremely hard to be regular 😅.
6. Laneige lip sleeping mask: I loved this one. It’s hydrating and not too heavy for a sleeping mask (though I didn’t prefer it during daytime). I didn’t even realise that it is a cult favourite until later. My lips were so hydrated and dry bits reduced a lot. I have couple of tubs I need to finish up but will definitely repurchase this.
7. Clinique take the day off makeup remover: this is another travel size product (I misplaced the container) which lasted long. I didn’t use it during travelling as I use it only for removing eye makeup which I don’t use much in the trips. This is quite effective in removing even heavy eye makeup and didn’t break out my skin. I am using Lancôme and have 2 big packs of Sephora, so it would be a while till I need to buy another pack.
8. Clinique BB cream: this is also from anti blemish line and I only used this one during my breakouts. It is not very hydrating, so couldn’t use it without moisturiser. It gives mild coverage - I don’t prefer heavy coverage creams anyway. I would like to repurchase it but I have Bioderma and Clarins to finish 😅
9. Essie nail polish - looks to thrill: I am kind of missing to list nail polishes in my empties posts. This is first Essie gel nail polish I finished which is surprising considering that it isn’t my favourite from the batch🤔 - most times it didn’t feel like it suited my complexion. Also it got thicker faster than the other gel nail polishes I bought (probably why it got finished faster 😅).
10. Bath and body works body scrub - Into The Night: I guess I can’t have an empties list without a bath and body works product ☺️. It got a warm fragrance and texture is pretty much same as rest of their scrubs - they mostly use same ingredients (why mess up a good thing right?😘). I am briefly switching to the body shop products but quite sure I will fall back to this brand in no time 🙈.
11. CocoLoco shampoo: thought it’s going to be nice round number in this list when I realised I almost missed this one 🫣. This is a mild hydrating shampoo with coconut fragrance and lasted few uses despite being travel size (lots of travel packs here🥹). Since it’s quite mild, I couldn’t use it post oiling the hair which makes it good choice for travel. I would definitely purchase a full size as I would love to have it when I am swimming regularly.
I have couple of lipsticks which hit the pan - can’t wait to list them in empties ⏱.
