February Empties
1. Dior lipstick in 663 Guipure: This is my first high end lipstick and the first lipstick I bought in Europe. Everytime I use it, I remember the time I bought it - in the middle of night, on the Ferry ride from Paris to London. Its dark pink in and slightly sheerer than I usually prefer, but with nice shine. Initially I used it on special occasions and later switched to more regular use and still lasted 3 years. This is undoubtedly the star product of this list. I opened Chanel stylo lipstick in its place. Its similar color and I resisted opening it for 2 years (points for my self control) and its worth the wait. The texture is super smooth, the pigmentation and finish is amazing.
2. Clinique Chubby stick in Super Strawberry: Another one of the deluxe samples I got with my Clinique purchases (or is it free full size?). I love Clinique chubby sticks to apply on the go as a substitute of lipstick. I don't need a mirror and it have more color than a tinted lip balm. Its not so moisturizing as a lip balm but enough to keep the lips hydrated. I have a full size one I planned to open after this, but I got to finish up my Nuxe lip balms - so I am on them now.
3. Maybelline baby skin pore eraser primer: I read a lot of good reviews about this product which was not available in India. So I picked it in Kuala Lumpur airport duty free along with the CC cream. Maybelline is my most favorite drugstore brand, however neither of them impressed me a lot. I have couple of sample primers from Bare Minerals and Clinique and I think I will not buy any more primers.
4. Claudalie SOS serum: Its the first to go from the kit, being the trial size and all. I loved it so much, I picked another kit with full size pack of the serum. I used it along with Claudalie moisturizing sorbet and they both gave enough hydration for the winter months. It might get a bit much for Summers though. I am using Kiehls concentrate as stop-gap until I get my stuff.
5. Forest Essentials panchpusp facial spray: I love facial sprays - they are super handy on warm days, especially during commutes and busy days when I don't get time to splash water on my face whenever I feel like. I usually get Kama Ayurveda vetiver spray which is less expensive and last longer. FE panchpusp have nicer fragrance, but I am going back to KA vetiver spray.
6. Essie cashmere matte nail polish in All eyes on nudes: I like Essie nail polishes a lot, but cashmere matte is not my favorite variant. Though the finish and color selection is nice, it dries pretty fast leaving no space for corrections. Moreover, it chips soon too. All in all, I am glad its finished. I still have lots of nail polishes and the next one I buy mostly is going to be a gel polish.
