Birthday shopping

I am never much of a birthday shopper - I always buy things I need or want whenever I get access to them and for my Birthday usually 1 or 2 dresses. However, this time, there are lots of sales going on and I didn't splurge in a while - i.e., after Brussels shopping through my friend (shopping buddy!!!).
Online shopping from various sites and a trip to mall landed the below items to my already unorganized wardrobe.

1. Nykaa: In recent years, I am spending more on skincare/cosmetics than fashion and as a result of numerous purchases from Nykaa I became a Prive member too. Sadly I missed the Mac free lipstick offer by couple of hours 😢, but I still got few others things which I wanted for a while.
NYX eye shadow base: this was in my cart on few occasions before but always discarded for some reason. Ironically, one of the reasons for postponing the purchase was the skin tone variant wasn't available and I still opted for white one when I picked it (even though both are available this time).
The piece I got is bit old - though there is still a long way to go for expiration, I couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed.
Bottega di lungavita shower gel: my friend suggested to get a perfume from this brand when I visited Italy saying they make amazing fragrance. I couldn't find them in Italy but are recently made available in Nykaa site. As I have many perfumes already and I ran out of my shower gel, I decided on getting one. I wanted to buy vanilla fragrance, however went for green apple variant as it have discount going on (I don't want to spend too much for experimenting). To my delight, vanilla got delivered instead.
Ikkai papaya powder face scrub: I am getting lots of pimples recently. I thought it could be due to stress and they reduced after a while but immediately started popping again. So I am avoiding scrubs and using my fresh pharmacy and ponds pimple clear face washes - usually they help but not this time😭. Anyway, I saw these new sachets and thought of giving them a try but I am still skeptical to try new products with my skin in such sensitive stage.


Also I got a blingy pouch as birthday gift for prive member. I already got quite a few pouches and would have preferred some samples or voucher instead.

2. Myntra: I bought a Dressberry watch and a night shirt from Myntra. I heard a lot of good reviews from my teammates about Dressberry and wanted to get a watch for a while now. Even though the night shirt got delivered on time, the watch got delayed and later cancelled. But I liked the watch so much, so I re-ordered and got it on time.


3. Amazon and NNNow: The top I got from Amazon is an impulse buy and a bit risky too as it is not returnable. However, the discount is huge and I am almost certain of my size from Aeropostale. Its nothing fancy, but it was in trend a few years ago and I did not got one till now.


My quest for shirt dress continuous as the one I got from NNNow is not the right fit and I had to return it 😒.

4. Promod & AND: we bought this strappy, cold shoulder, mint dress from AND more than a month ago. I loved the floral print with pastel color.

Since it is not quite suitable office wear, we went to Phoenix mall few days ago to buy another dress. After roaming around for a couple of hours and in the verge of giving up, we entered Promod store. The polka dot dress is on main display in blue and white. I never bought any clothing with polka dots and wanted the white dress, but its not available in my size. Moreover, the blue one looked quite good on me and got an unanimous vote from my mom and sister.

5. From my stash: I read somewhere about shop from the stash and since, there are quite a few interesting stuff in my unopened box, I decided on picking few.

I took a little deviation from my usual 'open one after finishing one' routine and opened Mac Creme in your coffee and Dior eyeliner pencil. I should get an award for resisting them for almost 2 years.
Creme in your coffee is a pinkish brown shade which makes a lovely every day color but the cremesheen finish is so shiny it seems like a special occasion lippie.

Dior eye pencil is of dark slate color and the texture is so smooth and pigmented. I don't think I could like any other eye pencil after this.


I also opened Clinique highlighter and Benefit tinted primer & mascara, but they are not exactly out of turn. I absolutely love the highlighter - its a pinky champagne shade.


6. The Body Shop: There is a store wide discount on TBS site on the occasion of Rakhi and I ordered few things. Most of them are re-purchases like tea tree oil and tea tree wipes. Additionally, I bought Rainforest conditioner, Vitamin E toner and Lip&Cheek tint in the shade Red pomegranate. I got Himalayan charcoal mask and Tea tree night mask samples.

I also got the plain gold chain with lobster clasp I have been searching for a while now - as I have the habit of removing my chain frequently, S clasp often gets loosened up. It was quite difficult to find one though and finally got it from Malabar jewelry store.
