Testing for first time - Biotique anti tan facial kit
I am not just testing this particular kit for the first time, but actually testing for the first time. Before buying any product, I usually get a sample or try in the store or get recommendations from friends or read lots of reviews online - basically something to convince me there is a possibility of me liking it. When I saw these kits, I wanted to test one of them without applying any of my usual protocols but brushed off the thought as I couldn't decide which one.
Then I went to Goa on a vacation and got badly tanned.
Now, I personally like a nice tan and am extremely happy with my wheatish complexion (I used to have lighter skin until I was in college when I was even more lazier), which is why I usually stay away from fairness products fearing my skin would get back its former shade.
However, this time my skin looked extremely dull and tired - still I would've left to be gone on it's own time but then I came across these kits again.

I felt like it's perfect situation to test for the first time as, with my minimal observation skills, I wouldn't notice any difference unless it is drastic.
So I bought this anti-tan kit and left it aside for couple of days before finally opening it.
I even restrained myself from reading online reviews during that gap so I could pen down (or type down 🤔) my uninfluenced thoughts.

I tried it on one hand, so it would be easier to compare 😌.
Following the instructions, I washed my hand using the scrub which got an amazing fragrance and I immediately thought of getting a full size of it. The granules are quite good and it cleaned very well.
Next I applied the massage gel and tried massaging. However, it got absorbed almost immediately and there is no lubrication whatsoever to enable the movement 😯. Also, it smelled bit weird - huge let down after the scrub.
Then I went to the mask, which is when I felt testing on hand isn't a very good idea. The purple colored mask is very fine and I had to struggle to get a thin layer.
After about 20 mins, I washed off the mask and applied dark spot corrector followed by the moisturizer.
Results: there is not even little bit difference in tan situation. My hand just looked like how it would be when I washed it with regular body wash and applied lotion 😮. I didn't applied the process to other hand to see if there would be any difference next day but there isn't anything noticable.
I didn't have high expectations for this kit and hence wasn't disappointed. Moreover, I quite liked the scrub, so my experiment isn't a total bust.
I left it aside and, if signs were to be observed, there is a high chance of it getting ignored. I have to finish it up before that happens 🙄.
