Products from abroad
One of the things I like about being a grown up (well kinda grown up), I get to travel more and have friends who travel and do shopping for me. I wouldn't prefer latter option often - only with friends I'm very close who, I'm sure wouldn't hesitate to say no.
After returning from London, my shopping buddy and I used to (and still do) go through our favorite UK shopping sites - drooling over the offers. I even tried international shipping once. Anyway, recently some of my friends (and extended friends) got few products for me from various places ๐.
1. Thanksgiving sale in USA:
My sister asked me if I want anything, when there was a huge sale during thanksgiving in USA and her friend offered to send few products for her. She was fully aware of the amount of shopping I did in Europe, less than 2 months before and was almost certain that I would say I don't need anything. Well that's what I said initially but immediately followed by a list of things surprisingly did not involve much of thinking either. She went blank for few seconds, with the number of products I listed within few seconds, without even pausing to think.
Anyway here are the products I got:
- Bath and body works: shower gel, body lotion and body spray trio in Paris amor and Cashmere glow collection. I tried Paris Amor lotion and Cashmere glow spray before and loved both the fragrances. I read about layering products for the fragrance to linger longer and am glad I get to try that with my favorites.
- Maybelline curly eyeliner: I used to apply eyeliner in college, but soon switched to eye pencils as I loved the soft look of pencils and easy application. Also, I never learned how to use a liner properly. Recently I wanted to give the eyeliner another try and took a fancy to this one - only it is not available in India. I am bit worried now as I did not read many good reviews about it. Anyway, I am planning to open it after finishing up my Body Shop eye pencil - fingers crossed ๐.
- Burt's & Bees face wash: this, I wanted to buy to sort out the dry patches around the nose. I read that it is quite efficient in dealing with such issues. Anyway, it is extremely expensive in India, so added to the list. I didn't open it yet, but I probably will be needing it for winter.
This list is mostly for cost effectiveness as most of the products are available in India but the prices are quite high.
2. Clinique haul from UK:

I wasn't exactly crazy about Clinique, but the products I bought from London are performing well. Also my shopping buddy is super into Clinique products and keep checking the offers in various countries. Mostly I won't get tempted, but the Valentine's day offer she mentioned was too good to ignore - Sonic brush price is reduced from 79£ to 39£. I tried shaking it off but couldn't stop thinking about it. After a lot of back and forth, I asked my old friend, who was about to return from UK, if she could get the Sonic brush for me. Two reasons I hesitated so much to ask her - 1. she already brought the gigantic benefit Christmas edition tin for me when she came on vacation and 2. she was returning to India which means her luggage would most probably be in unmanageable state. Finally, I gathered up courage to ask her and she agreed to pick it up for me ๐๐.
I placed the order online from Clinique site. The serum got added as free sample and, when I included the eye cream in the basket, I got few more samples. Fortunately, all of them are of smaller size and I really really hope my friend didn't had to struggle with them ๐.
3. Lush and others from Australia:
I lost count of how many times I regretted not getting the Roots hair cream from lush. So when my friend came from Australia for a visit, the very first thing I asked for is the hair treatment cream. I wanted to add few more from lush, but couldn't decide on what to ask - I already got a lot of face washes and masks. Just then, my argon oil hand cream got finished and I asked for one from lush. I thought dream cream is a hair serum but that's a body lotion. Additionally, I got few more I didn't ask. Nail files and buffer (which is a great coincidence as I misplaced the one I bought from Boots), Lindt chocolate flakes (I just finished the tin I got from Paris and wanted to ask for it, but I didn't think Australia is famous for chocolate) and a scented candle of ocean breeze fragrance (my favorite in scented candles) - they are extremely thoughtful gifts which isn't very like my friend ๐๐.
Big thanks to all my friends - I hope I get to travel a lot more and do my own shopping ๐
